A custom-typed poem makes the most personal, inimitable gift for a loved one or yourself.

2. Enter your prompt in the personalisation box (it appears when you press ‘ADD TO CART’). Put as little or as much detail as you wish about what you'd like to be included.

3. Choose your font; this will determine if your poem is typed on an italic font or traditional type font machine.

4. I'll message you the first version digitally - this is your FIRST chance to make any revisions.

5. I'll take your edits on board and send a photo of what they look like on rough paper - this is your FINAL chance to make any revisions.

6. Your poem will be typed on high-quality, cotton rag paper, presented in a was-sealed matching envelope. This is protected within a do-not-bend envelope.

Instant poems are unedited, emulating the on the spot poems I create at markets. So if you spotted me at a market and missed me, wish you’d asked for a poem about another topic, or aren’t in my area but would like a poem, I can send you one in the post.

How does it work?

Give me a short prompt or topic you’d like a poem about.

I may ask for a little more detail, but unlike ordering a custom poem, for this cheaper flat rate there will be NO editing process. 

You’ll see your poem when you receive it, wax-sealed in the post on A6 cotton rag paper.

This is a great alternative if you want to leave the words to me, and are in the mood for a little surprise.

PLEASE NOTE:

1) Though written instantaneously, this is not a guarantee that your poem will be posted instantly. As a sole creator, I aim to deliver your poem as fast as possible, but I do advise up to a 2 week turnaround time to receive your poem. 2) Although I ensure names and meaningful references are spelled correctly, and though I’m a pretty good speller, instant poems may have typos and other imperfections. Their aim is not to be perfect and honestly, in a world of digital generation, I’ve learned to embrace imperfection as part of the art of typing.

I'll type anything you ask onto ethically sourced, recycled, high-quality paper with one of my vintage typewriters.

1) Choose what size paper you need: A6, A5 or A4

2) Enter any personalisation you require in the box below, e.g. name & wedding date can be titled above wedding vows, you can add who the words are for and who they’re from, etc.

3) I will type it on rough paper to show you a photo of how it will look - this is your chance to request any revisions

4) Your chosen words will be typed as a final draft and sent to you in a matching presentation envelope (or tissue paper for A4 prints). and enclosed in a 'do not bend' envelope.

*PLEASE NOTE:

1. This product option is cheaper than custom poetry because it requires minimal creative input. I type words exactly as you've given me. Please select ' custom poem ' if you want me to create a poem based on your prompts.

2. Typed words may have imperfections such as letter shadowing, slight inconsistencies in spacing and alignment. I make a judgement on the size of imperfection. If it ruins the look of the piece it will be retyped, but small imperfections I feel add to the character and individuality of a human, hand-typed piece.
