Let me take you back,
To 2018. I went travelling with the plan to train as an English teacher and ‘find myself’ in the scraps I had left of my twenties.
Only a tender three months into the adventure, I realised I was happiest when writing, whether it was working on the book idea I had in my head, journaling my dear diary moments, or working on the travel blog I had at the time. (It was terrible, FYI, but don’t worry - ya gal’s come a long way since then.)
To paraphrase Harry Burns in the *2nd best movie ever, “When you realise you want to spend the rest of your life [in your dream career], you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
So, I hopped, skipped & jumped back home to the UK, applied for a creative writing course, and slowly (let’s not pretend anything is an overnight success here) but surely, forged a career in copywriting & wrote my first YA novel.
I was lucky to land an in-house position with a sky-rocketing start-up, leading the copywriting helm since 2021. Everything I’ve learned about marketing, I owe to this team and their infectious passion.
Missing the challenge of writing for different industries, I’m eager to share the marketing tactics I’ve learned that got the same little start-up noticed by one of the biggest companies in our industry, buying us for a 7-figure sum.

1) "You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything"
Doing work with integrity, for clients who I believe have integrity in their way of working and the product they sell is imperative. I paid my dues in early adulthood, working for questionable managers and corrupt corporations.
But I've seen the other side too. Working with and for people who ignite passion in everyone they meet. If you're truly excited by the good your brand is doing in the world, and need an honest marketer to help you spread the word, I'm your gal.
2) "Guess what!? I'm not a robot!"
I'm not a robot, and while copywriters are up against robots for the first time ever, I'm here to tell you that yes, I'm human, and I might make mistakes. But you can have every faith that when this happens, I take ownership, and they'll be corrected as a matter of urgency.
3) “Girls just wanna have fun”
Copywriting and brand storytelling embody all my fave things; wearing someone else's shoes, learning what makes them and their product special, creating copy that gets their clients excited and geeking out over grammar.
Trust me, what's frustrating for you is fun for me. Think your product is boring? I’ve probably written about something more so, and found an angle to bring it to life.
4) "She's the girl with the human touch"
I expect any fellow noughties millennial indie-kids to be singing along right now...
While I use AI for research purposes and inspiration, keeping abreast of the latest trends on the market, I will always give your copy flavour that only a human can achieve. Just like we all got sick of the puppy-dog snapchat filters, in favour of REAL faces, people will always crave authenticity.
