Chief Editor on ‘Untapped’
As copywriter in startup, GoProposal, I was tasked with editing founder James Ashford’s 2nd book.
The edit involved a major structural change to the opening of the book, which hooked readers instantly. One reader commented on how the opening story stopped him in his tracks, which I believe would have been lost if originally kept in place post-introduction.
As chief editor, I was responsible for distributing the manuscript to a panel of beta readers, collating their feedback and conducting further edits until James and I were happy with the final product.
Going through an acquisition of the company at the same time added an extra layer of complexity, liaising with Sage key stakeholders on further edits to comply with their requirements while protecting the integrity of the book.
It was a real career highlight, resulting in the book being a #1 Amazon Bestseller in Finance & Accounting.
Optimised Nurture Campaign
Throughout Sage’s acquisition of GoProposal, I expanded my product repertoire across all of Sage software products for accountants: AutoEntry, GoProposal, Futrli and original Sage software.
Always on nurture campaigns were a key responsibility. Throughout the years I used the data to monitor and refine such campaigns, as the key decision maker and creative lead on them.
Many garnered above benchmark open and click through rates as a result. A particularly high performer was our lead nurture campaign for the GoProposal product.
